Exceptional group accommodation in the cyclists' barn.

The Schünebusch in Estorf, situated in a sparse oak forest, is the village's historical barn quarter: to prevent the risk of fire, the farmers once built their barns outside the village. This meant that a major fire would either destroy the house or the crops and harvest, but not both. Today, nine of these barns still stand in the "Schünebusch". They house the local history museum with various exhibitions (agricultural tools, rural living culture, bakery, history of the village) and the "cyclists' barn", where groups can camp for the night if they book in advance. Extensively restored in recent years with great commitment by the local heritage association as part of the village renewal, today it is mainly cycle tourists and coach tour groups who stop off at the Schünebusch and enjoy the butter cake freshly baked according to an old recipe in the original oven. The Schünebusch also hosts special festivals and village community events at irregular intervals. The outdoor area is always accessible.

And these barns offer you the opportunity to have a civil wedding. Afterwards, you can toast the marriage with your guests (information: registry office Samtgemeinde Mittelweser, Tel. 05761/705-212).

Barn districts are special gems of rural building culture. For fear of devastating fires, most of the barns were built outside villages between 1700 and 1800 and provided space for storage and shelter. Today, the individual barn quarters offer space for a wide variety of uses.
