Moor and light railway/museum railway Heritage railway Museum

The Steinhuder Meer Railway (St.M.B.) was put into operation in 1898.

The once 53-kilometre-long narrow-gauge railroad stretched from Wunstorf via Steinhude, Bad Rehburg, Stolzenau and Uchte. Passengers seeking relaxation were mainly transported to the "Lake Province" at weekends. A locomotive with two trailers from the former Steinhuder Meer Railway can be seen next to Stolzenau station, which houses the tourist information office. Piece by piece, the former character of the station building and its significance for the town are to be remembered. Some of the rail vehicles (railcars, trailers) of the Bruchhausen-Vilsen Museum Railway come from the Steinhuder Meerbahn.
