The first written mention of the mill as a grinding mill is from 1745.
Today's small watermill was built in solid clinker construction around 1880 as a grain mill and equipped with a turbine three years later. After being used privately as a grist mill until 1996, the building was completely restored over the following four years. The technology is fully functional and electricity has been produced here since 1998. In addition to the Noltesche Mühle, the Noltesche Scheune (event room) is also part of the Noltesche Hof ensemble.
Situated in a magnificent location on the Süstedter Bach stream, the mill offers a unique setting for civil wedding ceremonies, both indoors and outdoors. After the ceremony, the newlyweds twist a rope together as a symbol of pulling together for a lifetime. The mill offers space for a drink with up to 50 guests. Up to 100 people can be catered for in the mill barn (information: Bruchhausen-Vilsen registry office, tel. 04252-391225).
