A meeting place for all generations with a local history room.
We have been a multi-generational house since 1995 and were supported in the early days by the municipality and district and funded for 3 years by the state of Lower Saxony as an example of a project for rural areas. Our Aller Experience Center with its sheltered harbour, play areas and water playground with solar artwork and observation tower, offers recreation for young and old from town and country.
In our geothermally heated multi-generation house, we also host civil marriage ceremonies; childcare, the intergenerational choir, play afternoons, the reading corner and much more are part of our regular offerings. The Amtshaus im Westen impresses with its location directly on the Aller and thus offers a unique backdrop for your wedding pictures. Especially for larger parties, you will find a suitable room here that is worthy of the special occasion of your wedding.
The Heimatverein Westen with the Heimatstube as well as numerous other associations are based here. In the Heimatstube, you can learn interesting facts about the history of Westen. Guided tours of the exhibition are also available (heimatverein-westen@web.de).
