Stone obelisk with bronze relief

The monument is located just before the Eyterbrücke bridge. The stone obelisk was inaugurated in a festive ceremony on October 19, 1900. It honored Duke Wilhelm von Braunschweig, 16 years after his death. He had reigned from 1831 to 1884, but had never seen Thedinghausen, but the office owed him a great deal. All the dignitaries of Thedinghausen, which had come into the possession of the Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel dukes by lot from 1681, stood in the front row.

On the front of the memorial is a bronze relief of Duke Wilhelm, below which is the reign and a lion's head. On the back of the obelisk is the inscription: His loyal office Thedinghausen - 1900. The Duke of Brunswick had already fulfilled the wishes of the German Revolution of 1848 in 1851 by granting liberal rights to the municipalities. The Amt Thedinghausen had not forgotten. At the end of the Second World War, in the April days of 1945, an English shell fired from Achim hit the monument and tore off an upper edge.
