To the left of the district court, a fountain from 1793 has been uncovered.
It was restored through donations.

"Sandstone drawing well
Depth 6m on oak piles, water level 3m,
Documented mention 1789.
Located on the old trade route between the dioceses of Bremen and Verden.
Rediscovered and restored.
Presented to the town of Achim as a gift
on May 20, 1995 by the Achim Lions Club."
The well was discovered in 1994 through drilling and excavation. It is said to have once been drilled by a tax collector so that his wives did not have to walk such a long way to bleach their laundry.
