Lake Blender is the remnant of a former arm of the Weser and stretches over 1 km.
At 6.3 hectares, Lake Blender is one of the smallest water protection areas in Germany. The maximum depth of the lake is 4 meters. There is no bathing supervision at the bathing area. The shallow shore area is marked with a chain as a non-swimmer area.
Nutrient inputs from the adjacent agricultural land to the east and from tributaries as well as foliage input from trees standing on the shore cause silting of the water and constant, more or less strong algae formation, which is mainly promoted by high phosphate levels. Blue-green algae blooms that pose a health risk have not yet been detected, but cannot be ruled out in such polytrophic waters.
Without bathing supervision, with public toilet and changing facilities
Please find out in advance whether there are any restrictions (e.g. bathing ban due to blue-green algae, etc.).
