The Alte Weser is located in the municipality of Weyhe in Dreye.
Originally created from an old branch of the Weser, the Alte Weser is located in the outer dyke area, embedded in a meadow landscape. There are numerous moorings in the grass on the banks of the lake. The lake area of the rather large lake is 88500 m² with an average depth of 6 m to a maximum of 15 m, shallower in the beach area.
The south-eastern bathing beach can be reached on foot in approx. 10-15 minutes from the parking lot at Dreyer Hafen. Otherwise, there is no bathing infrastructure such as sanitary facilities, kiosk or similar. Accordingly, the use of the parking lot is free of charge.
Please inform yourself in advance whether there are any restrictions (e.g. swimming ban due to blue-green algae etc.).
