From 1809 to 2024, the Leman company in Eystrup maintained an uninterrupted mustard, vinegar and oil tradition, making it one of the oldest mustard factories in Germany.
Many tasty mustard, delicious vinegar and healthy rapeseed oil specialties were well known to gourmets under the label "Eystrup Specialties". In terms of industrial history, the mustard factory offers northern Germany's largest operational stationary steam engine in the old boiler and engine house.
The Leman Mustard Factory Industrial Monument Interest Group looks after the preservation and demonstration of the steam engine built in 1911 and offers visitors a wealth of information on the history of the mustard factory over coffee and cake in the steam café.
The private DKW motorcycle museum "Im-2-Takt" is also located on the site.
