The market school is now home to the "Gymnasium Am Markt".
The "Market School" was built in 1894 as a neo-Gothic brick building by the young architect Meislahn. As was customary at the time, arches and decorations were added to the outer walls. Above the entrance door used to be the saying: "1894 God to honor - The community to bless." This can be found on the back of the building today. Over the years, the school has changed its appearance somewhat. It was extended and several extensions were added. Today, the market school houses the 2nd Achim grammar school, the "Gymnasium Am Markt" (GamMa).
