Dr. med. David Heinrich Hoppe (born on 15.12.1760 in Vilsen, died on 1.8.1846 in Regensburg)

Inscription on the memorial stone: Dr. Hoppe and like-minded friends founded the 1st "Botanical Society" of botanists in Regensburg in 1790. Pharmacist and doctor D.H. Hoppe described more than 200 plant species for the first time and gave them their scientific names.
