The Achim carillon is one of the largest in northern Germany.
It is located on the library square in the middle of the pedestrian zone.
Performing times are daily at 10, 11, 12, 15, 17, 19 o'clock. (currently out of service due to a technical defect)
The roof is intended to represent a shady tree under which you can seek shelter. The perforated sheet is intended to symbolize the foliage of the tree. Since December 6, 1997, the carillon has been ringing out well-known songs in one or more voices every day. The frame of the carillon was made in the Elfers locksmith's shop in Achim, while the 18 bells, later 24, were made in the Royal Bell Foundry Petit & Fritsen in the Netherlands.
